House of Windswift

This big weatherproof portrait plaque was commissioned as the sign for a bed-and-breakfast with two resident Saluki dogs. Its imagery also echoes the home’s plantings and architectural details.

Salukis are the traditional desert hunting dogs of Saudi Arabian royalty, and they are stunningly beautiful. "Sabbah the Windswift" was one of the champion Salukis who established the breed in Britain, and he was an ancestor of one or both of these boys.
